Using the service
Terms of Service
Effective September 8, 2026
Scratch Copilot is a beta learning aid. Its AI output may be incomplete or wrong, so check it and keep experimenting in Scratch.
1. Eligibility
You may use Scratch Copilot if you can agree to these terms. A child under 13 may use the beta only with authorization and supervision from a parent or school. A parent, guardian, or school approving use is responsible for that child's use of the service.
2. The service
Scratch Copilot provides AI-generated explanations, debugging hints, project comments, SVG costumes, and editable teacher-feedback drafts for projects open in the official Scratch editor. Requested comments and costumes are added directly to the Scratch project and can be removed with Scratch's normal controls. The beta may change, pause, or end, and features may not always be available.
3. Responsible use
You agree not to misuse the service, interfere with its operation, bypass usage limits, attempt unauthorized access, or use it to harm another person. Do not send private, unlawful, or infringing material. You are responsible for having permission to process the project content you submit.
4. AI output
AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable. It is provided for learning support and is not professional, safety-critical, medical, legal, or financial advice. Review answers before relying on them. Educators and guardians remain responsible for appropriate supervision.
5. Your content
You keep any rights you have in your projects and messages. You allow us and our service providers to process submitted content only as needed to operate, secure, and improve the reliability of the service, as described in the Privacy Policy.
6. Accounts and termination
You may delete your account from the extension menu. We may restrict or end access when necessary to protect users, comply with law, prevent abuse, or operate the beta. Account deletion is handled as described in the Privacy Policy.
7. Disclaimer and liability
The beta is provided “as is” and “as available,” without promises that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent permitted by law, Scratch Copilot is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot legally be limited.
8. Independent project
Scratch Copilot is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Scratch Foundation or MIT. Scratch is a project of the Scratch Foundation.
9. Changes and contact
We may update these terms as the beta changes. Continued use after updated terms are published means you accept them. Questions can be sent to support@scratchcopilot.org.
